dà feng qǐ bǎ tóu yáo yi yáo
大 風 起, 把 頭 搖 一 搖
A gusty wind arise, (the little blade of grass) shakes his head.

feng tíng le yòu tǐng zhí yao
風 停 了, 又 挺 直 腰
When the wind quiets down, then the grass straightens its back.

dà yǔ lái wan zhe bèi ràng yǔ jiao
大 雨 來 彎 著 背 讓 雨 澆
In heavy rain, it would bend its back and get drenched.

yǔ tíng le tái qǐ tóu zhàn zhí jiǎo
雨 停 了 抬 起 頭 站 直 腳
When the rain lets up, it would lift its head up and stand up straight.

bú pà feng bú pà yǔ lì zhì yào zhǎng gao
不 怕 風 不 怕 雨 立 志 要 長 高
It does not fear wind nor rain, but sets its mind on growing tall.

xiǎo cǎo shí zài shì bìng bù xiǎo
小 草 實 在 是 並 不 小
Little grass truly is not little.
